Yea, since I've decided not to buy that many films-- this event is kinda rare (that's what she said). Bah, let's make this long and boring story short. Fuck my life. Anyways, just minutes ago I pre-ordered THE HURT LOCKER - steelbook edition @play. This particularly edition looks pretty sweet, and I'm pretty excited too see how it looks on BluRay. Mhm. So, I should chuck my DVD edition then. Eh.

Speaking of which-- yesterday I, again, re-organized my film collection. In the process I parted with a hefty amount of DVDs-- titles like Hot Tub Time Machine and Transporter 2, fuck, what was I thinking.. Anyways, approx 80 titles-- gone. Now, the collection is more streamlined, yea-- that's it. And, hopefully, it depicts more quality. I guess. Fuck my life.

Before writing what's supposed to be the main subject for this entry, I realized that I have yet to written an entry about my niece, Ellinor. She was born on September 23rd, 2011. She's the second daughter of my sister Marianne and brother-in-law Jörn. So, yesterday-- Sunday, we attended her christening in Re. We had a great day together, all of us-- 16 in total. It was good times to see my family again-- because it's not that often I get to see them, so yea-- good times indeed. While hanging out, we planned our next trip back home to Trysil. Looking forward. Bah, enough family-jibba-jabba :P Laters.

For the last couple of days-- erm-- evenings, I've been playing a fair amount of L.A. NOIRE. Basically, it's awesome, awesome indeed. A bit repetitive tho, but as I'll go further into the cases/ storyline, I'm sure that will redeem itself, hopefully. Rockstar Games has created a quite unique experience which capture your interest and fascination for a booming Los Angeles in the 1940s. Hell-- it's not that unique, it's just awesome. Atmosphere, storyline, music, style and such are what makes this game IMO. Anyways, the dead broad in the alley needs my attention-- a killer is afoot. Laters!

Yea, what about it? I've just re-watched The Departed, directed by Martin Scorsese. Great film indeed. Although it being a remake of Infernal Affairs, directed by Lau & Mak, The Departed still tells an suspenseful and original story. It's basically one of those films that I'll never get tired of, probably-- I can watch it over and over again. Mhm. And for a closing statement, Vera Farmiga is hot! :P

Recap: Friday night. Met up with my colleagues at 7, in Drammen @First Hotel Ambassadeur. A couple of drinks @hotel room before heading down to dinner. A Christmas buffet. Nice. Back to hotel room, more drinks-- a mean Absolut Pears w/ a twist of orange, vodka drink. Tasted like shit. Anyways, headed back down, to the lounge/ bar area. Beer. Nice, unlike a before mentioned shitty vodka drink. Bah. Beer and Jack, neat. Now-- we're getting somewhere. Good times indeed. I actually presented my dazzling dancing skills to the crowd. Yea.. dazzling. Anyhow, it was all in good fun-- as most of my colleagues were dancing at the time. Bah. All-in-all, a very phun Christmas party. And the best part? Not hungover on Saturday morning.. Still, it turned out to be a very relaxed day :D Watching LOTR/ Two Towers, ext., and such.

Sunday, chill. Had a visit by my parents as they were traveling back home to Trysil after a weekend @my sisters place. It was great seeing them again, and I'm really looking forward to spend Christmas back home. Yep yea. Good times indeed. Also, yesterday-- I started watching Dag, season two. An Norwegian drama/ dark comedy series. Awesome awesome. Yep. Today, I watched the last couple of episodes, 10 in total. Highly recommendable. So, now what to do? Play some Uncharted - Drake's Fortune. Hells yea! Wait-- it's kinda late, I'll do that tomorrow, Uncharted. Bah, have a nice evening.

This weekend, Uncharted 3-- which is an awesome game! Easily the best adventure game I've ever played.. The game has it all-- great adventures, action, a quite intriguing storyline and beautiful graphics. Hells yea! It somewhat reminds me of the National Treasure films, mhm. Anyways, it's a great game-- so, HIGHLY recommendable. Now, back to play some more Uncharted 3-- I'm currently at 84%, so getting close to the end. I can't wait to see how the story pans out. Hm, I kinda forgot about this. Anyroad. The competition ended October 18th and I finished @14th place-- out of over 100 participants. Had to slow things down the last week or so of the competition-- which didn't help one bit, because of the somewhat tough exercise regime resulted in, as mentioned before, tendinitis. Hurts as hell, but it will be better in a short while, mhm. Went to see the doctor yesterday-- got a prescription. Anyways! Besides getting tendinitis, the competition was all-in-all a good experience, it really made me get off my ass and exercise, and I actually lost some pounds in the process. The thing is tho-- I can't afford to lose my motivation, I need to follow through. It's going to be tough, but-- in the end, win. Fingers crossed. Basically, it's all up to me-- which is a nervous thought ;) Yea, I guess that's that-- for now. Laters.

A decade has passed. It's actually kinda weird to think that it's already ten years since a whole world where put on hold-- in shock. These last couple of days stories have been told-- "Where were you when the planes hit WTC?". Certain world events are very memorable, such as 9/11. I remember quite well where I was during the first couple of hours of the attack. I was sitting in class at school when a text ticked in on my cell. It was from my ex-girlfriend, telling me in the lines of: "..a plane has crashed into WTC". I didn't think much of it, believing she was retelling a film-synopsis or something. It was when I got home and turned on the TV I finally got what was going on. It was a complete chaos-- live coverages from the US. It was a blur. A particular image comes to mind from the erratic hours after the attacks-- a live coverage from some US news channel. A shaky hand held camera filming a low flying plane.. Which plane? can't remember, but that very image still comes to mind when I think about 9/11. In retrospect-- the quite overwhelming situation in the US ten years ago was very similar to what I experienced this past summer, July 22nd 2011.

Today I decided to watch something new, and after long negotiations with, erm, myself-- I finally landed on MADMEN. It being August 31st and all-- I thought I'd post the trailer for "Oslo, 31. august". The film is Joachim Triers second feature film, Reprise (2006) being his debut. I really enjoyed that first film of his, and judging by what we see in the trailer, this second film is up the same alley, so to speak, which!-- is a good thing. Today I went to my doctor to check up on my ongoing flu/ influenza/ sinusitis/ whatever. Penicillin was issued, rejoice. So, hoping for a fast recovery-- being 'deathly ill' for almost 3 weeks is too much. Thank you. Anyways. I'd better be well until September 6th ey? Yea, I believe I will. Should be fun. Bah.

Yesterday I signed up for an exercise program/ competition at work, I believe it starts September 6th and continues for 3 months. We haven't received all of the details yet, so this entry is a bit incomplete and random, bah! I'm actually looking forward to get back at it-- this section has been dead for too many months now-- when September arrives, a difference will be made. Laters.

End. During my "deathly ill" days, which was approx 2 weeks ago, I managed to watch all the remaining episodes of the second season of ROME. I was under a spell, watching 3-4 episodes per day, I just couldn't get enough-- of my ROME fix. So now, withdrawal. Anyroad. The show is one of the best shows I've ever seen, even tho it only lasted for two seasons, damn, I've already mentioned that right? Anyroad. ROME has everything going for it-- storyline, characters and production design.. just to name a few key points. Yea, I've over this in previous posts. So, I'm done with ROME, but something tells me that I'll be watching it all over again some time in the future.. Yea, it's that good.
